Tree Diagram's Analysis

Syntax is a part of linguistics. It is also a part of the grammar of every language. And the grammar of a language is part of native speaker’s linguistic knowledge. Everyone who can speak knows how to use the rules and it is amazing that children can do it so fast. But nobody can really state exactly what the rules are. Therefore by understanding syntax (and morphology) can help researchers to understand how young children learn their native language.

Despite that simplicity, tree diagrams can represent phrase structure accurately. Although it may come to the ambiguity, we should see the context of the sentence before we can analyze it.

At first, we must understand and know how to differentiate the syntactic categories such as below:

The main structure rules that we must remember and apply to analyze the sentence are:
i-                    S - NP (Aux) VP
ii-                   NP - (Det) (AP) N (PP)
iii-                 VP - V (NP) (PP) (Adv)
iv-                PP - P NP
v-                 AP - A (PP)

When we understand the rules, it will be easier for us to analyze the sentence structure and reducing the grammatical errors.
